Woo Hoo Wednesday!

Marla at Always Nesting is hosting a fun new party on Wednesday. Woo Hoo Wednesday lets us post about all the things that make us say "WOO HOO!" It doesn't have to be anything momentous, just something that made your day. And if you haven't met Marla, you really need to do so. She is such a fun gal, with a great sense of humor.

After a really crappy start to the year, these came via Fed X the other day. This is definitely a WOO HOO moment in our house.

That's right, baby girl is graduating! Cum Laude no less! Cait came home from middle school one day and announced that she knew what she wanted to study in college. She aspired to study music, influenced by an incredible band director named Brennan Killingsworth. We thought that she might change direction and focus before she actually started college, but she never wavered in her dream.
Well, she has accomplished the first step! We are so proud of her! This girl worked her fanny off in college, completing a 135 hour degree program in 4 years. (Note to readers with high school students - push those AP classes and tests! They enabled Cait to start with 16 credits in the bank. And at $341.00 a credit hour, that is a substantial savings!) Cait is finishing up her final semester, student teaching middle and high school band students.

Thanks for letting me brag on my baby girl! Now make sure and swing by Marla's and see what has everyone saying Woo Hoo! about this week.

Well, that deserves a WOO HOO and a BIG congrats! I second your AP suggestion. The rural high school I attended did not offer AP classes and I was shocked by the advantage other students had with these credits.

Oh this is a big woohoo! I remember my chest feeling like it would just burst with pride when my oldest daughter graduated (also cum laude). She didnt take AP and it took 5 years to get her degrees, a double major and a double minor, with 1/2 year abroad.

Now our thrid daughter is a senior in high school and taking lots and lots of AP classes. It's good to hear that someone is very happy they did it. Everytime I have to write a check for a class I remind myself what a small price to pay it is compared to college tuition!

Congratulations Mom, you did good. Take lots and lots of pictures as you celebrate!

Kat, I am so proud of Cait, this is just so wonderful. Not only is she just gorgeous, talented, sweet and kind, but this girl is really SMART too. Give her a huge hug for me. I sure wish I lived in Texas so I could go to graduation. I can't wait to see all the pics. Congratulations to her and to you. It takes great parents to have great children. Hugs, Marty

Whoo HOO is right! What a wonderful and talented young woman your Cait is. I'm so proud for ALL of you. Believe you me, it is quite an accomplishment of us parents too, when our kids graduate from college and lark out into the great big world on their own. She's going to be GREAT!! Enjoy every moment of the next couple of weeks and take lots of pictures. By the way...THANK YOU SO MUCH for nominating me over at WOW! I'm humbled and honored that you'd think of me....truly!!
