Weekend Reflections - Blue Hole

We had an absolutely gorgeous day on Saturday, so we quit doing all the things we were supposed to do and took a jaunt to Blue Hole to take some photos. This is my contribution to Weekend Reflections, so graciously hosted by James every week at Newtown Area Photo.

Blue Hole is a gem of a swimming hole on the San Gabriel River, right smack in the middle of town. Not what most people imagine when they think of Texas. We have cliffs and everything! All pictures will enlarge when clicked to see more detail.

Be sure to stop by and say hey to James and to see some beautiful photography from all over the world.

Blue Hole looks like a wonderful place to enjoy a little getaway for a day of playing by the water until the sun sets.
Kathy, your photos are absolutely beautiful!

I love the treeline "under" the water. And that sun peeking through the tree is a nice capture.

Your photography is just getting better and better. You are really becoming a pro with how you capture all the reflections and the light. I love your pictures. This looks like such a fun place to go and splash around. Hope your day is a super one. Hugs, Marty

Beautiful reflection. As a fellow Texan, I can say that we have a lot of beauty surrounding us and a wide variety of scenery.

It must be pleasure indeed to have such things right in the middle of a city.

Kat, this is GORGEOUS! And I guess I think of the variety in Texas landscape because my family and friends live in different parts of the state. I'm a big lover of all things Texas, particuarly the people! :-)

Speaking of which, I hope you are well, friend. I'm so sorry I've been MIA, but I haven't had computer access, and then lots and lots of stuff started happening when I got home. I have missed you much. I'm going to be MIA again with no 'puter because I have to go supervise workmen at our getaway (I'm repeating something I talked about on my blog). There's a chance we can sell the house there. Please pray. I posted about it on the blog. I truly need the prayer support of friends, and I would appreciate yours SO much.

Warm hugs to you...

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love how you took the great stretch and expanse of the mountains.

I would give up anything I do and would not miss this scene!

Beautiful reflection of the trees.

P.S. Sorry for this late reply, we took the California RTE 66 this weekend.

How beautiful, Kat! I love it! We never had a swimming hole near my town. There was one at my camp in the mountains when I was a little girl and it was soooo cold it would take years off your life! lol Loved your jazz post, too! Hope you had a nice wekend...hugs...Debbie

It's funny I too was thinking the same thing. I never thought of Texas as having terrain like that. What a pretty town you live in!!

Hi Kat, I love your photos and you're right somehow this isn't how I picture Texas. One day I will have to visit. I heard Austin is a lot of fun.

Loved your post on JAZZ! I watched the video and I'm intrigued. I never heard of it do you think Blockbuster has it?

Thanks for visiting with me. Someone's getting older and I don't think it's us!!!

Have a great week, Bonnie
