Alphabe-Thursday - A is for

Time for a fun new meme hosted by Jenny Matlock. If you've not met Jenny, you absolutely have to run over to her blog right now! Her writing runs the gamut from hysterically funny to sometimes heartbreaking - but is ALWAYS entertaining. Go ahead, check her out, I'll wait....
See, told you so. Anyway, Jenny has started a fun new weekly event called Alphabe-Thursday. There are even prizes! This week we start with the letter A - come on, what did you expect?? The first thing that popped into my mind was attitude. As in bad. As in I've had a really cruddy week. Don't believe me?

1) The cedar count is through the roof and I have gone through 5 boxes of kleenex in 7 days.

2) Darling daughter informed us that her check engine light is on and her car is due for inspection in February.

3) Said daughter is student teaching this semester, therefore is not allowed to work, therefore has no income to have her car worked on. It's a good thing she's so sweet...

4) Had to completely update and revamp our employee handbook in 3 days.

5) Had to explain to our employees why their health insurance premium is going up again even though the coverage is going down. Oh, and the deductible is going up.

6) My fancy new coffee container from Starbucks leaks whenever I raise it to take a gulp, er, gracious little sip.

7) The first patient I picked up this morning proceeded to lick my face joyously while simultaneously urinating all down the front of my scrubs.

8) Client calls to tell me that she thinks her dog's ears are better but she's not sure. But she doesn't want to come in. She wants the Dr. to call her and tell her if the ears look better. Over the phone. I could not make this stuff up.....

9) Client calls to ask if feeding her dog the old chicken she was going to throw out (because it smelled bad) would make the dog sick. I told her absolutely it would make him ill - do not feed him the chicken. She then wanted to know when she should bring the dog in. I asked what we needed to see the dog for. She fed him the chicken. . . 2 days ago. Dog has been vomiting and having diarrhea ever since.... Oh, and she can't bring the dog today because she has a tee time she has to make.....

10) Then I walked outside and it was 77 degrees and sunny and the week started to get better. I may play hooky tomorrow....

Don't forget to swing by and meet Jenny and see what everyone comes up with for the the letter A.

At the risk of losing out on being blogging buddies, I'm sorry but most of your week has been hilarious!! :) :) LOL

You have the best stories and the best sense of humor. I just can't muster up any sympathy except for your daughter and the poor sick dog. Who in their right mind feeds their dog rotten chicken?

Still buddies? Love ya!

Kat with a day like that I think anyone would have a bit of an attitude. You have the wonderful ability of turning it all around and hitting the floor running again the next day. I so admire that about you,Hugs Kathysue

Wow, and I thought I had a bad week! You just can't make that sort of stuff up. And I agree with the comment above - Jenny is awesome!

Thanks for visiting and oh, yes - even though I didn't express it well, cooking with my family was so fun and I always love spending time with them doing just about anything. The whole ride home is spent feeling good!

Sorry about your week! At least it's Friday now and the weekend is almost here. When my daughter was student teaching she couldn't work either and she called me one day to say she had gotten a speeding ticket. Guess who had to pay the fine!

some people should not be allowed to own pets!!!

Okay, I give, I think your bad week outdid mine...and you described it so delightfully, I couldn't help but laugh!!!

It's been storming off and on the past few days here in the CA Pacific...I did get out and take some fabulous coastal pictures of the stormy waves which I was able to put on my blog...that was nice!

Have a great weekend!

I am so glad I signed up with Jenny, I have been meeting so many new to me bloggers. Thanks for coming by, I enjoyed your blog!

Oh Kathy... your patient owner stories are hilarious! Well... it's not hilarious that the one owner was more interested in her tee time then she was her pup's health... but it was "OMG I can't believe this!" funny!

I wanted to drop by and thank you for being so supportive of Kelly and I - you really are a fantastic blog-buddy!!

Rough day, but it could have been worse-- just ask that poor pooch with food poisoning! (Don't you just want to revoke pet owning privileges sometimes?)

Kat! What a day. Yes, definitely play hookey. That is shocking about the woman feeding her dog spoiled food, the dog being sick, and her having a tee time and not wanting to bring her sick animal in after SHE made him ill. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr... sometimes I think that people should be in cages instead of animals! ;-)

Hope the week got better for you.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Laughing!!!!! What a 'tude! I hope #7 was a dog...maybe you should explain for the folks who think you work in a people hospital.
You know you love it...right? Have a wonderful weekend, Kathy.

Hope that the sunny weather helped you get a smile on your face! I do not like "check engine" lights, they always mean big trouble!

Well, you just made me feel better about the week I had last week! I work in a law office, and believe it or not, I get similar questions on the phone (except they begin with I want to sue somebody for...)! There are some crazy people in this world, and I thought they all called our office, but I'm thinking some of them call your office! I hope you and I both have a better week this week. laurie
