Weekend reflections - the other side of the picture

Time once again for Weekend Reflections, hosted each week by James from Newtown Area Photo. Be sure to stop by and see some beautiful photography from all over the world. James is on vacation, but left MacLinkey up so that we could play! And after the week I've had, I definitely need some play time. What a great host.

This is a shot that I took while in New Braunfels. It is the other side of the spillway that I posted last week. I just loved the stillness of the water.

And for all of you who wanted to know what was reflected in the spillway last week (just in case you didn't read my comments), this is it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We had a week of absolutely gorgeous weather, and now that it's the weekend, it's gray and gloomy! So what better way to spend it than perusing all of the beautiful photos in Weekend Reflections?

GM Kat, I love the shot of the still water, I use to wade in little streams like these when I was a kid, the water was always so cold but I loved to be able to see to the bottom. Great shots Miss Camera Woman. you are really getting good at this. What a great hobby. Kathysue

Just look at those rocks and clear still water, gorgeous! It really has a calming effect. It has warmed up quite a bit here, Kat. It's been in the 70's the last 3 days and I am getting excited about gardening. But I won't be here next month so it might have to wait till March. My daughter's having a baby so I am going to Cape Coral to help her with 2 babies by next month.....Christine

Hi Kathy...

Oooh...what beautiful photos and you are absolutely right about how still and calm that water is...gorgeous!!! Are you from New Braunfels? Just curious...I lived on Lake Corpus Christi for about 30 yrs. Have been to New Braunfels many, many times...I love it there!

Well my friend, thank you so much for coming by and taking a peek at my "Changed Room" post today and for leaving me the sweetest comment! I sure did enjoy it!

Have a marvelous Monday, my friend!

This was so neat to see the "other photos" and I agree with the reader who said you've really gotten the knack of these reflection shots.

Here's something you may find odd, I really love the rush of water more than the stillness — the crashing waves of the Pacific, BIG waterfalls, and rushing rapids in a river. I can't explain it, but it relaxes me.

I read the post before this one also and I want the address of the woman who fed her dog that chicken and then was too busy to bring him in. I just want to slap her upside the head and bring her dog to live with me!

btw, thanks for posting about my giveaway. My first thought was how well my button went with your header. (I planned that.) lol

I swear Kat - you and Susan - BNOTP take absolute best pics ever! It seriously makes me want to go out and buy a new camera and then go take a class! :-)

The "flavor" potpourri I got was called Kettle Spice - she has some really great stuff and it is all reasonably priced too!

So pretty :-) I love water, whether I'm in it or on it or by it. I love the early-morning lake at the cottage, when the water is calm and still -- just like the water in your picture :-)
