for another round of Saturday Centus. Just a quick refresher. Jenny gives us a writing prompt, and we spin a tale of 100 words or less (exclusive of the prompt). No pictures, no vulgarity, no splitting the prompt. Jenny leaves the link live for a full week, so you have plenty of time to join. And make sure that you visit all the links, there are some amazing writers participating.
To all my fellow Centusians, I hope I don't get kicked out for being absent for 3 weeks, I've missed you guys! This week's prompt is in bold font.
Kate stared at the strips of wallpaper hanging in the front hallway. Another project that never got off the ground. Stacks of half read books lay scattered throughout the house, the new bookcases standing unfinished in the guest room. New Year's always started with such promise. But as the year wore on, it became apparent that it was going to be the same old, same old. No time, energy, or money. She glanced at her crumpled up list of resolutions. Grabbing her notebook, she wrote
Eat more, exercise less, gain weight, procrastinate...
Kate laughed. Finally, a list of resolutions that she would have no trouble keeping!

That's my kind of list!
Kat, you are so creative. Love it. I love the list too, since I can't seem to do all the right things anyway. Hugs, Marty
Hahaha! I like the way that gal thinks!! Great take on the prompt, Kat! I adore the Kindle, but I have to pace myself so I won't go broke downloading books!
lmao! that sounds like a recipe for success :p Love it
Hi Kat! I love it! I am re-writing my list of resolutions! I can keep THOSE! Happy New Year!...hugs...Debbie
LOL! Yes indeed, resolutions we could keep would keep us from beating up on ourselves. Good one!
LOL! I love it. My daughter just announced her list and it's all these. So nice to see you again, Kat!...Christine
I think I could handle that list myself!
;)
Haha that's the way to do it. Why not start of the year feeling accomplished? Even if you really don't have to change a thing.
Nice centus.
LOL! I loved this, Kat. Perfecto.
I think I have kept those resolutions yearly for the recent past. Maybe I can do it again!
Love you much. I hope you have an extraordinary new year filled with all that's best!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Kat! I love this! I especially love that you chucked it all to write! That is something I need to work on.
Thanks for your comment........cj
Hi Kat long time no see! I hope all is well and 2011 is a great year!
"Eat more, exercise less, gain weight, procrastinate" For me that was 2010 in a nutshell. :)
lol! what a realistic list of resolutions ... such is life in the real world ...
haha I like the sound of those resolutions! I think I could follow them for sure ;-)
LOL, now that's more of a realistic list of resolutions. Who knows, maybe it will have the opposite affect. One can hope. Great job on the Centus.
I am sure dear Kat, they will welcome you back with open arms.
I have always loved reading your mini stories and am an ardent fan. Glad to be able to peek in here and as always savor a good bit of your creativity!
Glad to know your new year was marvelous~1

I've missed you, sweet thang.
You're off to a fantastic start. I could do that new list sitting on my butt, eating bon bons, spending all my time on the internet.
Alas, work beckons. But hey! I get to sit there too!
Ha Ha! Now that's a list I could finnish every day! This was great!~Ames

I can do this list too! That was a fun one, and very true..Hope the New Year will bring all your wishes together.
Love this Kat! So true .... so true! Glad you are back!
Well, it sounds as though you've come up with a list everyone can relate too, me included.
Nice to see you back!
This is quite good! Funny, truthful...sounds like me, but I am not so certain that I could write that note...Peace and blessings
Hilarious! That's more like reality! Linda
Happy New Year KAT! Lists, mine are all in my brain!
Oh and I might add, I have no problems keeping those either LOL!
LOL! Too funny Kat. I wish that could be my resolutions. *Smiles*
That sounds like my kind of list. Honestly, I think that is why I just don't bother with New Years Resolutions anymorel We always start the New Year out right by trying to lose some weight and we are very good at staying with it for about seven months or so and then spend the rest of the year gaining a lot of it back. Fortunately though, we don't gain it all back, so at the beginning of the year we start at a much lower weight. Over the years with this system I have lost about 60 good pounds. You see, I don't even try to make a list, it is just automatic with me.
Keeping it real is always the best remedy and I think I might have to try this kind of list making or maybe we should call it a permission slip!!! Kathysue
LOL! A truly inspiring list of resolutions! Great take on the prompt!
Oh, this was really funny! This was how I lived 2010!!
This text is about a sort of opposite-psychology that some parents and teachers do with their children or pupils: "Yeah... go ahead... make a mess, see if I care..."
It probably works better that the other kind of New Year's Resolutions.
(I am so late with my comments. I am going back to older posts to see if I have missed anyone. Then I'll start looking at Alphabe-Thursday-posts.)
Take care!
