Rainbow Summer School - Green!

Thursday, time for Rainbow Summer School with our fearless leader, Mrs. Matlock. Our color today is green. I love green, it's one of my favorite colors. Unfortunately, by August, there's not much green to be seen around here. More of a dusty beige or brown ): So I looked through our photo files to find some examples. Some are mine, most are hubbies. Here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy!

New Sweden Church in the spring. A gorgeous little country church, but I'm not too sure about that green carpet on the steps!

Our first foray into light painting. I "painted" with light while DH took the shot. An abandoned farmhouse outside of Jarrell, Texas

An incredible candy lime hot rod - Lone Star Classic Auto Roundup, Austin Texas

A fun shot taken at Berry Springs Preserve Park in Georgetown, Texas

Lilly pond, Zilker Botanical Gardens, Austin Texas

Palm fronds, Zilker Botanical Gardens, Austin, Texas

And finally, my favorite. A beautiful path in the bamboo stand, Zilker Botanical Gardens

Hope you enjoyed my little spot of green today. Now get to class and see what everyone else is sharing!

Kat, your pictures are just wonderful. I love the bamboo one and the old farm house, that so reminds me of the farm I was born in and what it looked like before it fell down. So sad and lonely. Great pictures. Hugs, Marty

Hi Kat...

Just wanted to come by after reading the sweet note you left on my Colo. mtn. camping trip. I really enjoyed your visit and sweet note, my friend! Thank you!!!

Wowzer...what gorgeous "green" photos! You know, I think I've seen that old Swedish church. If my memory serves me correctly, it's out in the country? I used to live in south Texas...nearly 30 yrs. I've heard of Zilker Botanical Gardens but have never visited. After seeing your fabulous photos, I wished that I had! What a fabulous place! Thanks for sharing all of those gorgeous greens, Kat...what a treat!!!

Have a terrific Thursday!

Wonderful photographs. Last week when we drove from here to Austin I was kind of surprised at how green things still looked considering it was August. I guess it was all the rain we had earlier, but it's probably drying up quickly now.

Wow! Loved all your choice (and now I want to paint my Scion candy lime green) but the farmhouse is brilliant! I can't believe that was your first attempt at light painting, it is an incredible capture and would look beautiful framed. Just in awe…

Kat, I love all the green you've displayed today. My favorite part of being outside is all the various shades of green to be seen.

What's light painting? It's gorgeous and I'll love to know how it's done.

I always enjoy your shots so much. I like the one with the partly torn old house. Great green post.

Great collection of green photos :-) I really like the shot of the abandoned farm house. The composition is amazing, and there's something about abandoned houses that I find both sad & fascinating. I always wonder about who lived there and why they left.

I don't know what "painting with light means?" Is that shot of the old building a painting you did?

If so, I need to buy your artwork. Wow.

And if it's a photo...still...wow!

What a fantastic link to Rainbow Summer School.

These pictures are just amazing.

I'm so glad you didn't share the beige "real world" pictures! I'm living those here, too.

Thank you for linking.

A+

these are really neat, I am not sure what you do. Take black n white photos, and then color on them, or is it all done on the computer or what? VERY cool...the cars and the farm house are soooo cool!
thanks for a great green post!
