Finding Beauty - Bird of Prey

Claudia at Dipity Road hosts Finding Beauty every week. It's nice to be encouraged to see the beauty that is all around us, every day, if only we'll take a moment to look. On a recent trip to Lake Georgetown to shoot some sunset pictures, I looked up and saw this beautiful fellow soaring above us.

Click to enlarge to see this magnificent creature better.

Funny, DH was hollering for him to get out of his shot, and I was hoping he would fly into mine! Be sure to stop by and visit Claudia. She has such a wonderful outlook on life, and her blog and photography are just beautiful!

Wow... this must have been really something!

Thanks for underscoring how it just takes a Stopping a moment ... breathing and looking to see the fantastic and beautiful.

Classic example!

Thanks so much Kathy.

Taking bird in flight is now my latest challenge. I haven't succeeded yet.

I see a little house? nestled along the shore?

and the lovely flier...wouldn't you like to be up in the air...soaring above the trees and that gorgeous lake?

I had to laugh, at your difference between hubbys and your shot... lol sounds like us here LOL

Many hugs this day, Kat and may you get all the birds above you (minus the deposits :) ) lol

That's funny....kind of speaks to life...we all have our expectations and look what we can miss along the way when we are set on one thing. I can't tell but perhaps it's an eagle...beautiful catch whatever it is.

Hi Kat! What a beautiful shot! I love to see those big guys flying! We have some hawks that hang out near our house and I love to see them out riding the wind! I am still in baby land, but wanted to stop by and say hi! Happy weekend...hugs...Debbie

Kat, I am with you, just look at him soaring through the wind. I am always in awe of Nature. Seeing this image reminded me of that bible verse "They will soar on wings like eagles" Isa 40:31
God is amazing and he has given us so many gifts like this wonderful soaring creature. I love your photography post, Kathysue

he's beautiful and what a beautiful spot. We were coming over a bridge near home and had an eagle go overhead. He was a youngster and following the river. No opportunity to photograph him but I have the memory. Thanks for sharing your shots. ~Jeanne
