Weekend Reflections - Underpass Abstract

The weekend is finally here, so it's time to visit James at Newtown Area Photo for another edition of Weekend Reflections. Be sure to visit all the participants, you will see some breathtaking photos from all over the world.

A few weeks ago on a jaunt to South Texas, we saw an old trestle bridge. While walking across the bridge, you could see the new overpass running beside it. Not too interesting....

Until you look under the overpass....

I wasn't too thrilled with the quality of these shots - day one of using the new camera. But I loved the almost abstract pattern of the reflections under the bridge.

Make sure to visit James, you'll be glad you did. And have a great weekend!

Kat, I love the way you notice every detail in a picture. I love the reflection. Way too cool. Hugs, Marty

New cameras are like you shoes. You love the newness but they can hurt your feet until they are broken in and you are comfortable.

I think they are terrific reflections. I enlarged you photos and they look very clear and sharp.

Kat I have always said that good photographers can see things we don't and they can capture moments. I think you have the eye my dear friend. I love these post seeing your subject through your eyes. Hugs Kathysue

I like shots of hard surfaces. Nice lines and shades of gray and then that punch of blue.

...your "eye" will never be the same...you are searching/scanning...trying to see what is hidden in plain sight...

I am loving your discoveries.

If one uses the eyes, there is always a good subject to be found. You do.

As always, your photos are stunning! I wish I could "see" what you see.

Hubby just picked a camera as a service award and I'm hoping a new camera will boost my eye for photography. I never thought I'd be waiting anxiously for a camera.

Yes, looking under the bridge is fascinating - very interesting reflections, indeed! Good for you that you
have a new camera - I am still trying to figure out how-to stuff on one I have had for about a year!

Beautiful captures. When I first got my camera, it changed my whole world. I noticed everything, even dust floating through the air. I found I had to have it with me every where I went, even if I was just going to sit on the steps for a few minutes of breaktime, because you just never knew what would be there! Enjoy your new camera. Be patient while you learn how it works. They are all so different. Thanks for visiting my blog! ~karen

A new camera? Way cool! I know it takes some getting used to, but you'll knock that out in no time and it looks like your off to a great start!

You take such great photos, your next purchase needs to be Photoshop Elements, I know you could do some amazing things with that program.

Hi Kathy...

Just read your sweet note! Hmmm...love these photos that you took in South Texas...I know of a similar overpass...this wouldn't be on Hwy 37 just before you get into Corpus would it? It sure looks like it could be the same place! Love the reflections that you were able to catch in the photo!!!

You asked about whether or not we had cars that we enter in the car shows...yes! My honey restores 2nd generation camaros. Right now we have a 1970 RS camaro that we play with...attend car shows throughout the year. Also we have a 1953 Ford that we play with as well. In fact, we hare driving the Ford to Las Vegas for a big car show in April...I will get to meet Gloria from Happy To Be. Her and her husband are meeting us out there...I'm so excited! Was just wondering since you asked about the car shows if your husband does the car thing? So nice to hear from you, my friend...

Have a super Sunday!

I think your photos turne out nice.

We shovled snow all day. I'm sore! We can now get our cars out the driveway. We got a heater and put is somewhat under the house to get our pipes un frozen. Now washing cloths. ugh! They already closed school at 10am this morning. I might go to work later in the day. I'm not going at 6am that is for sure. Have a great week...

Isn't it cool what you can find when you look beyond the obvious?? :-) Very cool shot :-)

Sorry I'm late with this, but thanks for the congratulations on my home office win :-) I ended up not going with the $30 burger to celebrate -- I went with the $40 steak instead!! Eeek!!!!

Never say never.... you just might want a purple room one of these days!! ;-)

How cool! I think the picture looks great. That bridge picture would be cool for one of those pictures where you write words with pics you've taken. That, of course, would be a "T". Have a great week!
