Finding Beauty

Claudia at Dipity Road is hosting a fun new blog party called Finding Beauty. It's all about finding the beauty in our everyday lives, between the hustle and bustle of work, kids, family, and all of our other obligations.

If you've not met her before, this is our little Sax. Talk about "found" beauty! She was discovered by our daughter lying in a puddle next to the dumpster at the veterinary clinic that I manage. It was pouring rain and Cait could not bear to leave her there. She brought her home and she has become such a big part of our family. Sax is truly the most social, loving cat I've ever met - and believe me, after working for a vet for 25 years, I've met alot of cats! It doesn't matter what kind of day I've had or how much I've got going on in my life, one look at this little bundle of fur can immediately make me smile and relax, if only for a bit. She really does embody what is important in life - companionship, fun and sleep! It's a proven fact that having a pet can reduce your blood pressure and increase your life expectancy. And when this little gal curls up in your lap and starts purring, you can feel the tension leaving.
I hope you enjoyed meeting my favorite fur person. Now swing by and say Hi to Claudia, you'll be glad you did!

Hey Stranger! Of course I've met your kitty before. I love how she came to you and I definitely agree that you're healthier with a furry family! I hope your Christmas was blessed and your 2010 will be also. Yikes - it's furrreeeeezing, isn't it? xoxo Nancy

aaahhh.... she is a beautiful animal. I love cats, their purring that soothes, their independence....
Alas, they make me cough and break out in hives. Otherwise I would have one, or two.... Thanks for visiting my ocean picture. Oh to be in that weather right now... brrr it is cold here.

Hi Kathy
Sax is very happy with you I can tell. I have been rescuing cats for many years now, and dogs, mostly seniors. It's a passion.
You must see all kinds of different fur babies where you work.
Happy FFB.
BTW I have lot's of cousin's in the Michigan area (I'm a Canadian in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) that share your last name Schmidt. I wonder if your connected somehow? You never know.
Love Claudie

Your Cait sounds like my daughter. I can't even begin to tell you the things Nikki's done to rescue cats, it could be a book.

You're right about animals and our health, my cat Mae West and my dog Sheldon bring me so much happiness.

AND I'm happy to see that you joined this new meme also!

Kat, she is just so pretty. I know how much you love animals, and your job would drive most of us crazy, but you are the perfect person to care for all those wonderful animals with all the love and concern you give them. You're such a wonderful and rare person. Love ya. Hugs, Marty

I believe she found you all...just as much as you found her!

The world can be a beautiful place, if we all do our part...and you have indeed created a blessing!

Oh my. What a love.
We had our tabby for 18 years and this is one of the few times I have seen a cat that makes me really miss old Alvin. I just want to nuzzle Sax.

Okay, I've never been a cat person because of allergies but our local yarn shop has the most gorgeous smokey colored cat and he is winning me over....I agree about pets being good for our health. So glad she was rescued to a home with much love to give her. Hope you have a grand week.

Very retro - I remember the red Pegasus growing up in Missouri and driving into downtown with a huge red horse over the Mississippi
River.

So sorry I am late in visiting you Kathy. I was out almost all weekend and I'm catching up again. Sax is beautiful ..I like her coloring and she sounds sweet like my Bo. Is she a ragamuffin breed? They are such lovable cats. My guy was a rescue too --and as many said before me here I think cats know who should find them! :-)
