Thanks again to James for hosting Weekend Reflections. He's such a dedicated host, he is continuing the event while he is out of the country! Make sure to stop by and visit Newtown Area Photo to see some really outstanding photography.
A shot of our downtown square on a cold and rainy night, Thanksgiving weekend. Both of these shots were taken with my trusty pocket Coolpix. It never fails that I see a good shot when we are out with someone else, so I've started carrying it in my purse always! But I have learned to carry extra batteries too.
One short week later, the Christmas Stroll parade on a cold, clear and beautiful day. Make sure to enlarge this shot to see all of the various reflections.
Thanks for stopping by, make sure to visit James and all of his participants. You won't be sorry!

Your downtown square Christmas lights look lovely reflected in the rain Kathy!
Thanks for telling me more about the Duke Ellington songs..they are very melodic.
Is that your downtown?? Simply charming. I love small towns. That parade seemed like a fun time for the community!
Kat, your pictures are just wonderful. I love the night scene of downtown and all the reflections in the street are just gorgeous. Makes the whole town seem to sparkle. Your parade photo is fabulous too. Love all the cheery colors and the reflections in the windows too. Hope you're having a super day. Hugs, Marty
Definitely a lot going on in the reflection arena! Nice post.

Weekend Reflections ~ Evening Canals
Kat, enjoyed seeing these shots of your downtown. It looks like a very charming place, and I did englarge the pics and enjoyed the reflections. I particularly liked the one in the upstairs window of the antiques store. Did you get snow? I heard it snowed across Texas and the Deep South. It's even cold in Florida this morning.
XO,
Sheila :-)
Great idea to carry your camera always with you. I do the same. You never can tell what interesting things you might come across! Thanks for your visit and kind comment!
Hi Kat! I love that shot with the Christmas lights reflected in the rainy street! I scrolled down and chuckled at the thought of Sax in the tree!! lol I had one of mine get so far up in the tree that she turned it over! Can't wait to see your post about the Christmas Stroll! Happy weekend...hugs...Debbie
Such a good idea to carry your camera with you. Great night shot, magazine worthy!
Reflections everywhere you look in that second shot, but I'm partial to night shots, especially reflections on wet surfaces. Nice work.
Beautiful night shot with lights reflected on the wet pavement. I also like the red hats in the windows at the parade, very festive looking!
It rains a lot where I live but I think it makes things look very pretty. Glistening like in your photo.
I love your photo's both. Great reflections
I love the night shot! I carry my camera with me every where I go as well!
Love how the lights in the night time shot are reflected on the wet pavement :-)
Funny seeing people wearing T-shirts in a Christmas parade!!

Love that one above. A true reflection of silent night when no one is loitering.
Thanks for the visit. Your music makes me feel like dancing. Alas, I don't boogey. :)

This reminds me of main street at Disney land during Christmas with all the lights, very lovely! TY for the visit....
Flocks of merrymakers...
Pressing into town...
Not one single one...
Was wearing a frown!
The town sported finery...
Of the deepest green...
Why where is Kat~
Why can't she be seen?
She's clicking the lens...
And sharing her joy...
With all of blogland's...
Good girls and boys!
HUGS To you !
