Fall reflections

Time once again for Weekend Reflections, a fun new meme I found at Newtown Area Photo.
Simple rules from James:

1)Post a reflection photograph

2)After I post my Weekend Reflections photo, add your name, country and link to MckLinky

3)Be sure that your link goes directly to your Weekend Reflections post.

4)Comment on other Weekend Reflections participant’s blogs.

After our historic 3 year drought, we have had an abundance of blessed rain for the past month or so. Our rivers and lakes are starting to recover, and they just lifted water restrictions for our area. DH and I decided to take advantage of the sunrise and running river to take some shots last weekend. This is the South San Gabriel River as it runs through our City Park. Just a few months ago, this was basically a dry river bed with no flowing water at all.

Close up of the "falls". Click to enlarge to get the full effect of this photo.

Hope you enjoyed our little trip to the park. Make sure to visit James and see some amazing photographs.

Oh my word Kat, the reflection of the trees in the water is just beautiful. It really is looking good again, I remember the pictures of when it was just so dry and sad. Such a pretty park. Hugs, Marty

That is so neat. I like waterfalls and reflections and you've captured a combo of the two. The reflection is so beautiful.
Nicely done. :)

What lovely pictures, Kathy, and it's hard to believe that the river bed was dry just a while ago. It certainly is beautiful now. SO glad you got the rain you needed!

Lovely photos! The early morning light gave out a beautiful blue sky and the tree reflection is so clear! I love how the rays have glistened one part of the waterfall!

What a breathtaking sight!! I am so glad your water restrictions have been lifted. That must be a bit scary. But for a dry riverbed, it sure looks like a wonderful waterfall now! Gorgeous park!

I am going to visit James and see what this meme is about! Have a wonderul Sunday, Kathy!

I love your reflection photos! They especially mean a lot to me, because we are having a 2 year drought as well. I know the feeling of not having water in abundance and know what this must mean for you!

Beautiful photos, perfectly captured.
Who would have thought, looking at that still reflection, that the water leads on to a fall.

These are wonderful, especially the second one! I'm glad your drought has abated. Rivers need water to be themselves!
Thanks for the visit!

Such a beautiful classical piece. I love it. Who is it?

And I have another question. I can't ask someone I actually know or they will know how stupid I am...what's a Meme?

Great photograph! The contrast that a little water from the sky makes!
Congrats on winning the cute birdy cloche. It has great potential. Be sure to show it off when you gussy it all up!

Hi, Kat... just checking in with you to say I hope you do come visit in St. Augustine. It's a fun town! If you do, email me, and let's try to hook up. Would love to meet you. We are there pretty frequently. I would like to live there all the time, but Mr. Magpie's business is elsewhere.

XO,

Sheila :-)

Drought is a scary thing to me. It can be so devastating. We need to be careful don't we. There are lots of ways to conserve water but in the end without rain you are out of luck.

What a pretty waterfall! It must sound so nice.

I've noticed the bay near where I live is the highest I've seen in decades! It makes me a little nervous about flooding.
