It's Wednesday. Yippee for hump day. But more importantly, it's Outdoor Wednesday, so graciously hosted by Susan at A Southern Daydreamer. If you haven't met Susan yet, you really need to go by and check out her blog. It's beautiful! And Outdoor Wednesday is such a fun weekly event. Make sure to drop by http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ and say hello, you'll be so glad you did. I've been MIA alot lately. Work has been nuts, we've had family visiting from out of town and it's been so hot and dry that I haven't felt like taking many outdoor shots because everything looks awful! But my daughter got this great shot a week ago as she and some friends were eating at an outdoor restaurant in Denton. I thought it was so cute, just look at that little paw on her friend's hand as he nibbles a chip. She sent me this via mobile upload, and I immediately sent her a message to not give that poor little thing any hot sauce!
Last week, we were blessed to have my husband's niece and her two children visit from Philadelphia. Jessica is 8 and is such a smart, fun little girl. Julian is 3, and he is ALL BOY! His very favorite thing in the world (this week, anyway) is firetrucks and firemen. On the last night before their flight back to Philly, we took the kids to Shake's Frozen Custard for a treat. As we were getting ready to leave, one of our Georgetown Fire Department trucks was pulling up. I took Julian's hand and walked toward the truck, his eyes getting bigger with every step we took. As we approached the truck, I asked one of Georgetown's finest if I could take a picture of my visiting great nephew in front of the firetruck. "No ma'm" he replied, much to my dismay. "But I can let you take a picture of the little guy IN the truck". Julian was estatic. He had such a ball, and shook the hand of each of the three firemen. I don't think he will ever forget this, but if he does, Aunty Kathy has a picture to remind him! Don't you just love those "blue raspberry" lips!
Hope you enjoyed these shots. And don't forget to stop by and visit Susan and see what else people are sharing for Outdoor Wednesday.

Two very cute little guys. It's funny three months ago I was living about 15 miles away from Denton TX, now I'm living about 30 miles from Philadelphia. :-)
How cute! I love that picture of the squirrel eating!
Now that is what it is all about. Something this little guy will never forget.
You may want to tell your daughter that squirrels are just cute rats. Dirty destructive little monsters. They will eat your wiring in you house even.
Lori, my daughter wouldn't feed the squirrel - she told her friend he was going to get rabies - and she named the squirrel Foamy! (she knows that they really don't carry rabies, but she thinks they are filthy). I think they are cute, much cuter once we found the hole they were using to get into the attic! K
Oh Kathy, I am glad you thought of that and how sweet of the fireman to let him in the truck. I know it will be a precious memory for him and he'll cherish that moment forever....Christine
We have a little guy (well we thought it was a guy) and her name is "Chippy". I would love nothing more than to be able to hand feed it. How wonderful.
Happy OW

What a cute shot of the squirrel eating. I'll have to show this to my Bailey, he'll be back tomorrow evening. Yippee!! What a darling shot of Julian sitting in the firetruck. Priceless. His smile says it all. You all hung the moon by allowing him to sit up there. Great Outdoor Wednesday post..
hugs ~lynne~
How nice that firefighter was to let Julian pose in the truck. They are the best. And Julian is a doll, blue lips and all!!
The squirrel is a cutie!! Now I know you work in a veterinarian clinic and you said above that they do not carry rabies, however, I was bitten several times by an injured squirrel. My doctor wanted a blood sample of the squirrel to be sent to a lab to check for rabies before giving me a clean bill of health. Let me know what you think.

Kathy, I am so glad you got to see the parrots. Can you believe in Everman, TX ??????
That photo of your nephew in the firetruck is priceless. Isn't wonderful that they let him up there. Hey Georgetown FD! Georgetown has sure grown is when we used to go through there years ago (my parents lived in San Antonio & us in the DFW area). Have a great week!
Kat, the squirrel picture is just too cute, but the cutest thing I've ever seen is that sweet little boy sitting in that firetruck. What a thrill for him. Such great pictures. Hope your world calms down some now. I know it has really been just nuts. Hugs, Marty
Thanks for sharing shots from your life...

Thank you for stopping by my lil blog! Yes Davis Austin roses most of the time have a fragrance. There are 2 different rose varieties in the pictures- one has a more citrus rose - the other more traditional- both very fragrant- I get so disappointed when I go to smell a rose and there is none- these will not disappoint!
Cute pictures! I have a squirrel in my yard that drives my dog crazy!!

What great pics - love them!! I bet my sis would have something to say about that squirrel and I bet it wouldn't be nice at.all.!!
Love the fireman shot - he looks like a little cutie and those blue lips just set off the red of the fire truck that much more!!
Happy Friday and I hope things gt better for you soon - but I totally understand!
Opps that should be "get better"
I hate typos - sorry!!
Cute pics all around! Wonderful to have family visiting isn't it? Especially when they bring cute kids to play with.
Kathy, those flowers at the botanical gardens are drought-resistant. We've been in a drought for years now and this is the worst ever! The ground water is so low that even my big trees are dying. We can only water once a week from midnight till 4am and believe me that is not enough with our sandy soil. I don't post pictures of my yard, because it just looks pathetic and the weeds are taking over. Now they are all drought-resistant, no problem keeping them alive!
The rain that's been coming through just seems to pass in either side of us. The botanical gardens uses reclaimed water, so that helps it to stay looking good.
What great fun pictures. Is it hot there? I am down in deep South Texas and we are burning up!
Laura
awww is that cute or what? I would love the chance to feed the squirrel. Around here they are so timid and just grab and run.
Thanks for the sweet words about our garage floor Kathy!
Ill tell my hubby. He will appreciate them so much.
Yes I definitly have issues with throwing things out very quickly.
I'm a bit of a neat freak. Sometimes I forget if I kept something then I miss it later but it is soooo nice to be clutter free. Ahhh!
~Blessings my friend! ~Melissa :)
