Welcome to Outdoor Wednesday, graciously hosted every week by Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamer.blogspot.com/ Make sure to stop by and see what beautiful outdoor scenes everyone is sharing this week.
This week, I thought I'd take you on a night tour of Austin. DH and a friend went out last Friday and did some night shooting in Austin. He said that you meet the nicest people when you set up a camera on a tripod and turn your hat backwards lol.
The Broken Spoke is a legend among Austin dance halls. Now in the middle of an extremely busy urban area, it still has the feel of a beer hall in the middle of nowhere. Can't you just hear Asleep at the Wheel playing in the background?
How about a bite to eat at the Magnolia Cafe? This is a fantastic little restaurant. Don't let the sign fool you, the food is great and we're always GLAD that they are open!
Just thought that this shot came out really neat. Congress Avenue, going past the Austin Motel. This is a really neat old place that has been restored to all of it's vintage glory.
Statue of Stevie Ray Vaughan on the shores of Lady Bird Lake
Love this shot of the Austin skyline from the shores of Lady Bird Lake.
Hope you enjoyed this mini tour of Austin. Now don't forget to stop by Susan's and see what everyone else has to share with us this week.

The 'Broken Spoke' looks like it is a fun place. I need to check it out whan we get to Austin!! Thanks for the nighttime tour.
Very nice. I was just in Austin a couple of month ago, but I'm always ready for more. We used to drive down from Irving. I really did enjoy your tour especially the bottom picture. I tried to take that view at night but it didn't come out right.
See ya around. :-)
Kathy,
I visited Austin years ago and loved it! From what I see of the skyline the city has grown quiet a bit.
I LOL when I read your comment on my blog about the the bales of hay being scratchy! That is so perfect.

I loved your tour of Austin at night. Now I just need to determine which spot to visit first. The view of Austin from Lady Bird Lake looks like a great place to begin. Kind of work my way down to town. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
Oh, Kat, I havn't been to Austin in many years. It looks like it has grown so much like everything else. What great pictures. Love seeing the skyline. Hugs, Marty

Dare I say I don't like country music? Sorry.
Now Stevie Ray Vaughan rocks.
I would sure like to try those eateries. I bet there is some good old BBQ there.

The shot of the Austin skyline is beautiful. I'm not much of a city girl, but I just love seeing city skylines all lit up at night :-)
Maybe I have a dirty mind, but the sign for the Austin Motel reminds me of... well, you can probably guess!!
Hey, you and me both are apparently living in a cave!! I just heard about the Crasher Squirrel late last week and thought he would make a fun post. Glad you enjoyed it :-)
You could always try sticking him in a picture of your office and see how he likes it ;-)
