Summer Reading Challenge

Susan at http://asoutherndaydreamerreads.blogspot.com/ is hosting a Summer Reading Challenge. It's really simple, just make a list of the books that you plan on reading this summer from June 21st 2009 to September 21st 2009 . Post a link on her blog and you're all set! Don't forget to do a post in September to let us all know how you did. My list for this summer includes the following:

1. Swan Peak by James Lee Burke
2. Rain Gods by James Lee Burke (to be released July 24th)
3. Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin
4. A Darker Domain by Val McDermid
5. Life Sentences by Laura Lippman
6. Meely LaBauve by Ken Wells
7. Wormwood by Susan Albert Wittig
8. Reading Lolita in Tehran

I hope to add more as work allows. Hopefully the 4 days in Rockport will give me lots of time to catch up on some reading. Can't wait to see what everyone else is choosing for their lists!

Wow quite a list. I hope you find the time to get through them all. Nice lazy afternoons with a book and an icy cold beverage.

I LOVE to read!! On vacation at teh beach last month I finished 3 novels! This morning I finished my sisters keeper! Wow what a tear jerker! Loved it! My problem, I am hoping i am not alone, is when I start reading, that is ALL I want to do, no laundry, no cooking, no nothing until the book is finished. I have to make deals with my self, you will not read until next month, until after Christmas, until you have your housework done. Sound at all familiar?? Hope so, Sue

Hey Kathy - I'm coming out of hiding FINALLY and wanted to stop in and say HI to some of my fav blogger buddies!!

Love to read and can devour a book in no time flat, although my favs are more fluff and no substance which is perfectly OK by me. You have quite the list there - can't wait to see what you have to say about them - sounds like fun.

I've been doing some lurking lately and I read your earlier post about the grocery store check out person and I think I know who you're talking about and having had to wait tables for 4 years after Meghan was born in addition to working my regular full time job makes me totally appreciate all people in all types of jobs and I can relate to your rant - and all I have to say is AMEN sista!!

OK - enough about that - hope you'll forgive me for dropping off the face of the earth there for a while??

I used to read books like a fiend -- I just couldn't get enough!! But then something happened, and I'm just not the bookworm I used to be :-( I have a feeling it's related to the short attention span I seem to have developed -- I don't have the patience to wait till I get all the way to the end of the book to find out what happens!!

I read a lot of magazines, though :-)

Enjoy your summertime reading :-)

great list! I have been wanting to read Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin.
I will have to look for that one at the library. Good luck with the challenge.
